The Chicopee Housing Authority employs a staff of approximately 40 to provide for the needs of our residents and applicants for housing. We offer employment in a diversified array of positions ranging from Clerical to Maintenance. All openings are publicly advertised using the Springfield Republican as well as services such as the Department of Employment and Training.

Our office/clerical positions require that employees be familiar with computers, the current word processing programs such as MICROSOFT WORD and that they be familiar with normal office functions. The Maintenance Department requires skilled maintenance employees familiar with residential apartment construction/maintenance. Duties performed included an array of activities from snow removal and lawn care to carpentry, plumbing and electrical work. Demonstrable skill levels are required for all positions.

The CHA is an equal opportunity employer and we have a commitment to affirmative action. Regulations further prescribe that the CHA provide employment preference to CHA residents and to veterans. Due to the diverse nature of our resident population we consider fluency in a second language to be an asset in a prospective employee.

Individuals offered employment by the CHA are required to allow a criminal record information search with the Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board and must meet the physical requirement of the work involved.
